Ericsson (NASDAQ: ERIC) declares the launch of its Together Apart Hackathon under the patronage of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) Ministry of Economy, which taking place between April 22nd, 2021 to March 31st, 2022. The Hackathon strives to stimulate the journey towards a more united future and solving worldwide challenges.
The Together Apart Hackathon endeavours to draw new approaches and excite innovations in the end verticals, by employing the innovators, disruptors and inventive individuals of the UAE to develop technology-based solutions arranged to the UAE vision 2021 presenting the power of 5G.
Participants will seek to discover innovative solutions in the six broad themes of UAE’s Vision 2021 – World Class Healthcare and Wellbeing, First Rate Education System: The Ease Of Learning and Access to Education – future of education, Competitive Knowledge And Digital Economy, Sustainable Environment And Infrastructure, Safe Public and Fair Judiciary, and Cohesive Society and Preserved Identity Transcending Physical Borders.
The Hackathon is open to all expert developers, programmers, engineers, designers, technopreneurs, university students and inventive people from all private and public institutions based in the UAE. The program kicks off with a request for plans starting today, wherein enthusiastic participants can register online to submit their pitches. Top five ideas from each theme will be shortlisted to compete in the hackathon.
Along with this, webinars will be conveyed to invigorate, educate and equip the participants with the required talents for the idea development beginning April 22nd. In addition, a prominent group of speakers will engage in the event, where appropriate topics will be discussed to invigorate innovators and change-makers in the nation.
H.E. Dr. Ahmad Belhoul Al Falasi, Minister of State for Entrepreneurship and Small and Medium Enterprises, announced that the launch of this innovative Hackathon serves as an excellent and profitable example of the well-established partnership among the public and the private sector in promoting and developing an innovation atmosphere in the country, particularly by linking it to the purposes of the national agenda for the UAE Vision 2021.
It is expected that a wide range of essential areas will serve from the innovative plans that will be presented and performed by this great event. His Excellency emphasized the Ministry of Economy’s assistance of this leading event for Ericsson and will extend its efforts to support the numerous efforts made by the private sector in many innovative fields.

A total of six winning teams will be taken – one winning team from each centre region in UAE Vision 2021. The six winning teams will get help in examining their solutions and will also be provided with an opportunity to present their solutions at the Swedish Pavilion in Expo2020. One team will get the grand prize to visit Ericsson’s headquarters in Sweden to pitch the team’s solution and communicate with the entrepreneurial society.
